Care For Friends Honors Longstanding Board Member

Longstanding Board member, Annette Guzman (nee Moore) being honored at 5th Annual Care For Friends Sleepout for Homelessness

February 21, 2020 (Chicago, IL)

Care For Friends will honor one of its longstanding Board members, Annette Guzman (nee Moore), at the organization's annual Sleepout for Homelessness fundraiser.

Guzman has been a life-long community activist and became involved with Care For Friends,  when she joined the Board in 2013.  A trained attorney, she was instrumental in helping the organization distinguish itself from the church that founded the program 40 years prior, establishing corporate governance practices, and by securing major grant funding and the organization's 501C3 status.

After donating over 6 years to Care For Friends, she is closing out her term, but not without leaving a lasting impact on those experiencing housing and food insecurity. The Sleepout is a fitting event to honor Guzman's years of service. She, along with the 4 other Board members at that time, started the annual fundraiser, which is now on its 5th year.  Please join us on February 21st at 530 W. Fullerton, at 8pm to say thank you to one of our greatest supporters.
