Lighting The Path Home
Over 66,000 people in Chicago experienced homelessness this year - a number that increased by over 3,000 due to the migrants arriving in Chicago by bus under the direction of Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
That's why we are hosting our annual Sleepout for Homelessness - raising funds to provide resources that will help light the path home for all who need a hand.
Pack a sleeping bag, or break out your footie pajamas, because sleepers can join us at slumber parties across the city, as well as our classic “sleep outside in a tent” option. Either way, we will be raising money to connect Chicago’s most vulnerable with the medical care, housing assistance job training, or food security needed to achieve a better life.
Whether you light the way to a better tomorrow from a tent on our lawn, or through the window of a living room slumber party, you’ll be helping hope rise in the hearts of Chicago’s homeless
Your donation today helps keep Care for Friends providing hope to Chicago’s most vulnerable. And if you'd like to give something other than financial support, there are now five great ways to participate in the event on February 16th. Check them out at www.CFFSleeps.com
This year, there are SIX great ways to participate:
Sleepout All Night With Us In A Tent: Our classic option. We provide a tent, you bring a sleeping bag. Ask friends for support via your personal fundraising page (but no fundraising minimum is required).

Sleep All Night At A Slumber Party: Break out your footie pajamas and join other sleepers in a home for a group slumber party! You can organize your own home and group of friends, we can connect you with a host home, or you can volunteer your home for others. Ask friends for support via your personal fundraising page (but no fundraising minimum is required).

Sleep All Night In Your Home: The sleep at home option where you make your own plans to spend a night in a space. Ask friends for support via your personal fundraising page (but no fundraising minimum is required).
Be a Fire Spreader: Come by and light a candle from our campfire. Hear our speakers, enjoy some smores and hot cocoa, and take your candle home to spread the light throughout Chicago. (This will also be streamed online).
Be a Fire Spotter: Help us find glimmers of hope in your community! We'll send you a list of questions to answer ("If you were experiencing homelessness, where could you sleep safely tonight?," "where could you use the bathroom?" etc.). Sometime during the evening, you'll explore your neighborhood, take photos of your answers and post to social media. Ask friends for support via your personal fundraising page (but no fundraising minimum is required).
Be a Fire Tender: Sign up for a 30-minute timeslot during the night to make sure our campfire keeps burning. Ask friends for support via your personal fundraising page (but no fundraising minimum is required).
